Realms Unwritten

Search a hostile living realm, survive its factions and wilds, and leave a history the next life has to answer for.

A survival explorer overlooking a vast dark fantasy realm of ruins, faction towers, mountains, and dangerous roads.
Generated living realms Factions with memory Death with consequence

Search the realm before the realm finds you.

Realms Unwritten begins with terrain, roads, settlements, pressure, danger, faction influence, and old places worth fearing. You push into ruins, mark routes, make camp, and decide which roads are worth the risk.

A survival party camping by a ruined road while a glowing trail leads deeper into the realm.

Factions endure beyond one hero.

Leaders, territories, border towns, alliances, raids, grudges, and broken roads can outlive the character who first disturbed them.

A lone explorer approaching a rain-soaked faction border gate with banners, guards, burned wagons, and wilderness around it.
I

Iron Crown

Border forts, law by steel, and roads held through tribute.

II

Mossward Pact

Old villages, hidden paths, and harvest oaths that remember debt.

III

Veiled Reliquary

Scholars, grave vaults, relic law, and history no one trusts.

IV

Ash Banner

Raiders, famine trails, monster bargains, and burned capitals.

Consequences need systems underneath.

01

Settlements With Needs

Villages, mines, capitals, and mage settlements track prosperity, shortages, shops, and weekly pressure.

02

Roads With Stakes

Road tiles can become lifelines, ambush paths, faction borders, or the evidence of a failing region.

03

Characters With Scars

Race traits, trainers, professions, fatigue, learned skills, equipment, and reputation shape each run.

04

Events That Linger

Raids, disease, shortages, monsters, and discoveries can become permanent marks on the realm.

An explorer kneeling in an overgrown ruin beside a glowing relic blade.

Return as someone new to a world that kept its memory.

One life can open a road, ruin a town, anger a faction, uncover a relic, or fail quietly in the wilds. The next life does not step onto a clean board.

  • History continues after the character is gone.
  • Factions can inherit grudges, borders, and alliances.
  • Places can carry scars from raids, shortages, monsters, and discovery.

The wilds have teeth, wings, and old weapons.

A survivor discovers a glowing relic weapon in a moss-covered ancient shrine.

Relics should feel discovered, not dispensed.

Ancient weapons, cursed marks, faction trophies, and old shrines become reasons to leave safety and search deeper. The best finds should feel like history waking up under your hand.
